Your First Visit
Your first visit to our office involves a few special steps so that we can get to know you. To understand what to expect, please read through this page. You'll find all the practical information you need.
We are a patient-focused practice. When creating a treatment plan, we account for all of the factors that affect our patients’ health and happiness. Our goal is for our patients to need less dentistry. We focus on the root cause of matters rather than just treating disease. This results in a less costly and time-consuming experience for our patients. Our preventative dental treatments are designed to keep your teeth and gums healthy and detect diseases while they’re in the early stages. Our services include teeth cleanings, fluoride treatments, dental sealants, and oral exams.
Every adult new patient exam and recall exam includes an oral cancer screening. This is a detailed evaluation in which we examine the areas around your head and neck, as well as the inside of your mouth. We check your lymph nodes, lips, cheeks, tongue, mouth, and throat for changes in their appearance and potential signs of disease. We also look to see if there are any sores or lesions that look concerning and need to be addressed further.
Being well-prepared for your appointment will ensure that the doctor has all of the needed information to provide the best possible care for you. It also will help relieve any unnecessary anxiety you may be feeling. We look forward to your first visit.

We accept most traditional insurance plans, contact our office to verify acceptance of your plan. Dr. Julia Pesavento DMD and Dr. Erin Gunderson DMD do not participate in Health Management Organizations; however, we will be happy to file your insurance claims for you. We accept checks, cash or credit cards. We also offer a flexible payment plan. Please see our Financial Coordinator for details. We are happy to file insurance for your reimbursement as long as you are free to choose your own dentist.
